Recommendations for Cell-Free DNA Assay Validations: A Joint Consensus Recommendation of the Association for Molecular Pathology and College of American Pathologists
This course contains the webinar, a handout, and continuing education credit (CME and CMLE)
Description:
This webinar is based on new best practice recommendations from the Association for Molecular Pathology for validating and reporting clinical circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) or liquid biopsy assays and their related scientific publications. The AMP Liquid Biopsy Working Group, including organizational representation from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and College of American Pathologists (CAP), reviewed more than 1,200 publications that describe ctDNA assay performance in patients with lymphoma and solid tumor malignancies. The recommendations, which are based on the AMP Liquid Biopsy Working Group’s scoping review and subject matter expert professional experience, include reporting key pre-analytical considerations and assay performance metrics.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify current
challenges in ctDNA assay performance and reporting, including pre-analytical
variables, analytical considerations, and elements of laboratory assay
reporting.
- Discuss new consensus recommendations that are intended to assist clinical laboratories with validating and reporting ctDNA assays and to ensure high quality data is included in publications.
