The classic pregnancy handbook "What to Expect When You're Expecting" is widely read by patients as a means to prepare and better understand pregnancy. In a similar spirit, this session will focus on providing a resource to the laboratory professional to better understand unexpected findings that occur in noninvasive prenatal screening via cell-free DNA analysis. Attendees will gain an understanding of the nature, cause, and impact of these unexpected findings in the clinical setting. The session will also explore the most recent clinical opinions on appropriate follow-up for patients impacted by incidental findings.
